Frequently Asked Questions
How do I prep for the tan?
Step 1: Wax + Shave. Waxing should be completed at least 48 hours prior to your appointment and shaving should be completed with a razor that lacks a moisture strip.
Step 2: Exfoliate. Stay away from a body scrub/loofah combo as most are oil-based and will leave a residue. Instead, use an exfoliating mitt.
Step 3: Spa Treatments. Get your spa treatments, waxing, manicures, and pedicures done prior to coming into your appointment. Make sure there’s nothing on your skin when you come in for your spray tan.
Step 4: Clothing. Be sure to wear loose and dark clothing for after your appointment to avoid transfer of the spray tan.
Step 5: No Skin Barriers. Forgo any lotion, perfume, deodorant, body oils, etc. All of this will act as a skin barrier and possibly result in an un-even or patchy tan.
How do I maintain the tan?
Step 1: Before your initial rinse, do not get wet or sweat. We will prescribe the amount of time you should wear the solution before your first rinse.
Step 2: Be careful with who you touch! Try not to cuddle up to anyone in case the spray tan solution transfers. That also applies to yourself!
Step 3: Rinse when we tell you. If you do not rinse at your designated time, you may develop too light or too dark. Temperature of your shower should be lukewarm.
Step 4: Stay hydrated. Drinks lots of water and apply a spray tan-safe moisturizer to keep your skin barrier healthy. Ones that are not highly perfumed are better.
Step 5: Avoid chlorine, swimming in the ocean, jacuzzis, and hot showers. All of this will cause your skin to get dry and your spray tan to fade quickly and unevenly.
